Third Candle

Stock scanner

A stock scanner should surface evidence, not commands.

Third Candle treats scanner output as a research queue. A candidate can be interesting because of momentum, volume, float context, or catalyst quality, but the workflow still requires risk, source freshness, and a paper plan before action.

Scanner evidence fields

  • Price band, latest price, relative volume, dollar volume, float context, catalyst status, spread, and stale-data warnings.
  • Premarket, regular-session, and after-hours coverage labels where provider data supports those sessions.
  • Transparent source attribution so seed, fixture, delayed, IEX-only, SIP, or full-market coverage are never confused.

Workflow controls

  • The scanner feeds paper planning, chart review, journal replay, and performance validation instead of one-click execution.
  • Wide spread, halt risk, missing catalyst, stale quote, and extension-risk states remain visible before plan approval.
  • A higher score means a stronger evidence package inside the methodology, not a personalized recommendation.
